31 Days of Halloween: Catwoman Body Paint Tutorial (NoBlandMakeup)

Catwoman body paint instagramTime for some Catwoman Body Paint!

Holy crap am I behind with this months videos, but I’m stubborn, so lets see how many I can do before the end of the month… I may loose my mind if I haven’t already :D. Anyway, I decided to go with the old school Catwoman, mostly because everyone and their mother has done the Michelle Pheipher version, and I like to at least pretend that I’m
different (cue music). Seriously though, what happened with the cape? The last few renditions of Catwoman are capeless and it makes me sad. Get on it Hollywood! lol.

So in my typical fashion, here’s a little history on the cat burglar herself.

She actually first appeared in Batman #1… in 1940… talk about an OG lol. Selena Kyle, aka Catwoman, was an orphan in one of Gotham’s worst neighborhoods. Honestly that’s not really saying much, because Gotham seems to be either really nice or really crappy depending on which side of the street you’re on. Sorry, personal observation… That being said, she turned to crime to keep herself and her friends alive. This kitty is a good one to have as a friend. Eventually she turned to more Robin Hood mind set (Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor).

Catwoman is an interesting character though.

She’s not good (duh), but she’s not evil either (also duh… well sometimes). She basically sees it like this: just because it’s bad for someone else, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Look at her outlook on helping her friends: if I steal from greedy people, and give it to people who have nothing, that greed was used for good. That’s why she can be Batman’s greatest ally… again, depends on the situation, but that doesn’t make it any less true. When they work together it’s because the greater good is at steak, but Catwoman is no sidekick. And you know, that whole extreme sexual tension thing probably doesn’t help the situation either ;).

So what are your favorite things about Catwoman? Do you think she is inherently good, or inherently evil?

Let me know down below! And don’t forget to watch my video on how to turn yourself into Catwoman using body paint!

    1. Thanks alot! Most people haven’t because it’s a really old rendition of her. I liked it because of the color lol. All black is pretty cool, but I liked that older comics were super colorful.

  1. Catwoman has always been one of my favorite comic book characters and you’ve done a tremendous job in representing her! The makeup looks fantastic.

  2. I’m loving the Cat Woman look. And trivia .. I had no idea she was in the first Batman (1940?!) That a few decades for sexual tension to build .. watch out Batman!

  3. I was never a big fan of Catwoman, but then again my first exposure to her character was in awful films that Hollywood were creating to generate profit. However when I actually read up on her character and ignored the films I actually resonated with her character. I think she makes a good point when she steals from the rich to give to the poor x

    1. Yeah, Hollywood has kind of done catwoman dirty. She’s fierce, and stands on her own for what she believes is right, not necessarily what might be the correct thing to do.

  4. I always liked Catwoman. I think she has a good heart underneath and that she was left with no choice but to live the way she did. You definitely nailed her look!

    1. Yeah, shes definitely gotten a raw deal, but she does what she can. That’s why she’s not a good or bad character, she’s kind of neutral for te most part.

  5. Great makeup. I am not sure whether I would consider Selina Kyle to be good or bad. I think she loves those whom she loves and her morality is based upon that. It certainly causes conflict sometimes.
