Like many a youtuber and blogger, I went out and got the new Vice Pallette. Urban Decay is known for it’s provocative eyeshadow names, the intense pigmentation, and the Naked Palettes ;). This new palette has 20 brand new shades. At first glance, this palette is something I would expect of Urban Decay- a perfect mix of darker and lighter shadows that has colors that are wearable, while still having something for the more adventurous side of us.
For a quickie review, check out this video :). A more in depth review is right under.
One thing that immediately stands out is that the palette holds it’s own mirror. There is not flopping back of the mirror that drives every makeup junkie insane. Opening the palette is made easier with a push button. I know that sometimes when I am trying to open a palette, sometimes the latch will not let go for the life of me. Another thing I love is that the mirror that comes with the palette is huge. I feel that when I am going to apply my makeup, I will not have a problem seeing myself. There is also a brush included with the palette, a dual ended brush, but dual brushes are not my favorite. In fact, they kind of annoy the crap out of me. The brush can get damaged easily when you are storing it because most of us store our brushes in cups. While gravity is still a thing, you will just have to pick a side you like better.

The Good: These shadows, in true Urban Decay fashion are, for the most part highly pigmented. The brighter the color, the more pigmentation these shades seem to have. They are also very satin feeling to the touch, which is suprising considering the amount of shimmer that is packed into these babies. I love that these are 20 brand spankin” new colors for the holiday season. Shellshock is also a club favorite 😀 The huge mirror doesn’t hurt either
The Bad: As much as I wanted super pigmented dark eyeshadows, and for the most part I did, except for Smoke Out, Poison, and Lovesick. Love Sick depressed me a little, but if you use this over a sticky base, it should look alot better. Another thing I was not so impressed with was the double ended brush. Yes I love getting free brushes, but I don’t like picking which side I love more. Another miss for me was the lack of more matte shadows. I wish there would have been a few more mattes to even out the shimmer but hey 🙂
The Verdict: Do I feel that this palette was worth the money, for 20 brand new eyeshadows, with only 3 shadows I would consider duds? Yeah. Would I go back and repurchase? Yes.
